During Japan's Edo period, a common farmer named Katsusoju Muisaka embarked on a perilous mission to conquor the fabled waves off of Kanagawa. Legend had it that in the 10th century, legendary hero Kintaro, or "The Golden Boy", had skillfully battled a giant carp within the surf there. Armed with only a modest board and a sword strapped in his sash for protection, Katsusoju Muisaka challenged the towering waves while he sought evidence of the giant carp that resided there.

When Katsusoju Muisaka returned with the hide of a spectacular dragon, the local farmers as well as the Emperor were filled with such amazement, Katsusoju Muisaka was renamed Muisenshi, or "unknown warrior." Muisenshi's dragon hide was considered to be the metamorphosis of Kintaro's Giant Carp, and beheld the strength of great fortune and prosperity. The Emperor ordered that the hide should be preserved and formed into fine garments, to be worn by the common man, as a tribute to Muisenshi's great heroism. And so Samurai Surfer was born.

Today, Peter Mui, beholder of this legacy, has continued this philosophy of fine apparel for the everyday person. He continues to transform ordinary garments fit for an emperor into garments worn by the common warrior.
